Ren Cooper

Ren Cooper is a Senior Scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, where they serve as the Head of the Applied Nuclear Physics Program and the Deputy Director of the Nuclear Science Division. Their research focuses on developing novel radiation detection and imaging technologies for applications in national security and fundamental science. Ren previously held positions as a Staff Scientist and Postdoctoral Research Associate at both Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and Oak Ridge National Laboratory, contributing to advancements in radiation detection and data fusion. They earned a PhD in Nuclear Physics and Radiation Detection from the University of Liverpool and are currently pursuing an MSc in Radiometrics at the same institution.
