Roberta Leftwich-Vann

Roberta Leftwich-Vann serves as the Institutional Assurance Officer at Berkeley Lab, where oversight of assurance programs, risk management, quality assurance, and policy management is conducted to ensure the Laboratory meets its scientific mission and stewardship responsibilities. Previously, Roberta held the role of Project Manager for the Advanced Light Source Upgrade Project, managing a $590M initiative. Prior to Berkeley Lab, Roberta was the NASA Ames Program Director at the Universities Space Research Association, leading operations for the SOFIA airborne observatory. Roberta's background includes a tenure as a Principal at Booz Allen Hamilton, an Account Executive at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and significant roles at the Federal Aviation Administration, including Director of the Safety Management System and Manager of Oceanic and International Air Traffic Control. Roberta's academic qualifications include a Master of Science in Engineering Management, a Master of Public Administration, a Graduate Certificate in Construction Engineering and Management, and a Financial Management Certificate from reputable institutions.
