Shawn Brown

Shawn Brown is a seasoned network engineer with extensive experience in designing, implementing, and supporting network infrastructures. Currently serving as a Network Engineer at Berkeley Lab since November 2020, Shawn collaborates with ESnet users and peers to meet scientific network requirements. Previous roles include Senior Research Network Engineer at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where focus areas included WAN/LAN and optical fiber networks for critical infrastructure, and Senior Optical Engineer at OARnet, responsible for an 1800-mile optical transport network. Shawn's career began in the military as a Communications supervisor and expanded through various positions at telecommunications companies. Shawn holds an Associate of Applied Science in Computer Sciences Information Technology from Pellissippi State Community College.
