Tao Cui

Tao Cui is a Mechanical Engineer II at Berkeley Lab since March 2020, specializing in UHV chamber and vacuum chamber support design utilizing Creo Parametric. Key responsibilities include flexure design for thermal-driven motion compliance, water cooling design, and performing thermal, structural, and modal analyses using Ansys. Tao Cui is also involved in design optimization based on stress and natural frequency, overseeing subsystem integration and manufacturing coordination with external vendors. Prior experience includes a role as a Student Assistant where contributions were made to mechanical design through numerical ray tracing in MATLAB, and as a Production Engineer at DENSO, where assembly fixture design and project management were key duties. Tao Cui holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and studied at San Diego Mesa College before that.
