Tao Yang

Postdoctoral Researcher

Tao Yang is a postdoctoral researcher at Berkeley Lab since October 2023, following a tenure as a graduate research assistant at Texas A&M University from 2020 to 2023, focusing on smart home technologies and occupant-centric control (OCC). Previous experience includes research positions at The University of Alabama (2018-2019), where CO2-based demand control ventilation (DCV) and OCC were studied, and Tongji University (2014-2017), where work involved building energy model calibration and carbon emission calculations, along with serving as a graduate teaching assistant for the course on building simulation. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University, an MS in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Engineering Technology from Tongji University, and a BE in Building Environment and Facilities Engineering from Central South University.
