Vivek Mutalik

Vivek Mutalik is a Staff Scientist and Principal Investigator at Berkeley Lab, focusing on innovative approaches in synthetic biology and genomics. With extensive experience at the Joint BioEnergy Institute, they contributed to the development of synthetic biology tools and predictive models for protein expression. Vivek has also co-founded several biotechnology ventures, including Felix Biotechnology and POLYGLOT Biosciences, aimed at addressing antibiotic resistance and microbiome modulation. They earned a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, where their research quantified biological signaling networks.
