William Baird

High Performance Computing Systems Analyst

William Baird has extensive experience in technology and engineering, currently serving as a Team Leader at Team Phoenicia since November 2007, where responsibilities include developing technologies for lunar rover missions under the Google Lunar X Prize. Concurrently, Baird has held the position of high performance computing systems analyst at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab since June 2001, specializing in HPC/supercomputing systems. Previous roles include Lead Programmer for the data acquisition and processing group at the High Energy Laser Systems Test Facility and programmer positions at SHWI Usenet and Technical Solutions Inc. In addition to practical experience, Baird’s educational background includes a degree from New Mexico State University, completed between 1992 and 1997, and attendance at Los Alamos High School.
