William Plasencia

William Plasencia is an experienced media relations and crisis communications lead at Berkeley Lab since June 2021, where responsibilities include media outreach and emergency communications. Prior to this, William served as Director for the City of Miami for over a decade, enhancing municipal service delivery and fostering public-private partnerships to improve community living conditions. William has also held key roles such as Manager of Advocacy & Education at the Miami Downtown Development Authority, Senior Staff at the District 2 Commission Office, Managing Editor at Latin Trade, and Vice President at Bankrate, Inc., where transformative editorial strategies significantly impacted organizational growth. An education background includes a Bachelor's in Political Science from the University of Florida and a recent Certificate in Mediation from the University of California, Davis.
