Tim Smith obtained a BS in Management Science / Marketing from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business from 1986 to 1988. Prior to that, they attended the College of Marin in Kentfield, California from 1984 to 1985 for business studies. In 1981 to 1983, Tim studied Computer Science at Christian Brothers University. In terms of certifications, they obtained a Commercial Pilot Rating and a Private Pilot Rating in LTA (Hot Air Balloons) from the Federal Aviation Administration in 1979 and 1977, respectively. Additionally, they acquired a Private Pilot Rating in Sailplanes in 1973.
