Ben Johnston

Ben Johnston has a diverse work experience in supply chain and logistics management. Ben is currently serving as the Sr. Director of Strategic Sourcing at Berlin Packaging since April 2023. Prior to that, they worked as the Regional Director of Supply Chain at Berlin Packaging from March 2020 to November 2023.

Before joining Berlin Packaging, Ben worked at Carberry LLC as the Vice President of Supply Chain Operations from March 2019 to March 2020. At Carberry LLC, they led supply chain operations teams and was responsible for various functions such as new product introduction, distribution, and launching an e-commerce CBD business.

Earlier in their career, Ben served as the Director of Supply Chain at Lagunitas Brewing Company from October 2015 to March 2019. During their tenure, they built and managed a team responsible for sourcing, procurement, planning, distribution, and customer service functions. Ben also focused on improving the customer experience and achieved a delivery performance of 99% on-time and in-full.

At Sonoco, they successfully implemented sourcing strategies, managed supplier relationships, and led Lean/Sigma improvement projects.

Ben started their career at Trex Company, where they held roles such as Lead Logistics Coordinator from February 2005 to April 2006 and Shipping Coordinator/Materials Coordinator from December 2002 to February 2005. At Trex Company, they oversaw logistics and materials management and achieved notable accomplishments such as negotiating an outbound freight contract and reducing billing discrepancies.

Ben Johnston received their Bachelor of Science degree in Business Logistics from Penn State University in 2002. In addition to their degrees, they obtained certifications in CSCP from APICS in 2010 and Green Belt from Sonoco Lean-Six-Sigma in 2007.
