Carsten M. has a diverse range of work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Carsten began their career as a Senior Consultant at Accenture UK, where they focused on SAP consulting and ABAP development for international clients in the oil & gas and telecommunication sectors. Carsten then moved on to roles at Arvato Supply Chain Solutions, where they served as a Senior IT Manager and Senior Consultant, leading the design and implementation of SAP ERP systems for the telecommunication and consumer electronics after sales business. Carsten also managed the international roll-out of Business Intelligence and analytics solutions. Carsten M. later joined Fachhochschule Bielefeld as an Adjunct Lecturer, teaching software engineering methodology and requirements engineering. At SAPTalentCloud, they served as the Managing Director, and at KeyStone, they held the position of Chair of Advisory Board/Technology Advisor. Most recently, Carsten M. has been working at Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA, first as Director of Business Consulting, then as Senior Director of Data Governance and Senior Director of Data & Analytics, and currently as Vice President of Technology.

Carsten M. earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge from 2001 to 2005. Carsten also obtained a Diploma and M.A. in Computer Science from the same university from 1999 to 2000. In addition, Carsten received an M.Phil. in Economics from the University of Cambridge in 1996 and 1997. Prior to that, they completed a Diplom-Kaufmann degree in Wirtschaftswissenschaften from Paderborn University from 1990 to 1995. Carsten also holds a B.A. (Hons.) in Economics from Nottingham Trent University for the academic year 1993 to 1994. In terms of certifications, Carsten obtained various certifications related to computer science and machine learning throughout the years, including an Executive Education program from INSEAD in 2019 and multiple courses from Coursera, Udemy, and other institutions.
