Michael Toy has been in the workforce since 2010. Michael began their career with an internship at Conde Nast as a Fashion Intern for Details Magazine. Michael then interned at Hearst Magazines as a Photo Intern for Food Network Magazine and at CNN as an Entertainment Unit Intern. In 2012, they worked as a Freelance Production Assistant and as an intern for Wilhelmina Models in the Men's Division. From 2014 to 2015, they worked as a Relationship Manager (Technical Recruiter) at Talener. In 2015, they joined Bombfell as a Talent Acquisition Manager and Talent Acquisition Coordinator. In 2018, they joined Bespoke Post as a Senior Talent Acquisition Manager and Talent Acquisition Manager. In these roles, they have focused on expanding the remote workforce, streamlining hiring processes, training hiring managers and interviewers, implementing onboarding procedures, and leading an ATS migration from Greenhouse to Lever.

Michael Toy obtained their High School Diploma from George Washington High School in 2008. Michael then went on to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Media, Culture, and Communication from New York University, which they completed in 2012. Additionally, in December 2020, they obtained a Diversity Recruiting certification from LinkedIn.
