Sean Saint

Sean Saint has a long and varied work experience. Sean began their career in 1997 as an Engineer at United Defense. Sean then moved to Arterial Vascular Engineering in 1998, where they were also an Engineer. In 1998, they joined Medtronic as a Senior Engineer, where they were responsible for performing stress and fatigue analysis, as well as failure analysis on multiple projects. In 2003, they joined Dexcom as an Engineering Manager, where they designed the mechanical aspects of the company's third-generation long-term implantable sensor. In 2007, they became the V.P. of Research and Development & Co-Founder at Alure Medical (now Refine Medical), where they were responsible for hiring the engineering, quality, and regulatory teams, leasing space, and developing the product. In 2009, they joined Tandem Diabetes Care as the Director of Mechanical Engineering/Advanced Technology, where they led their ME team in designing a smaller and more attractive form factor than competitive products. In 2014, they founded Companion Medical, where they served as President/CEO. In 2021, they became a Member Board of Directors & Co-Founder at Luna Diabetes, and in 2022 they were appointed Chief Executive Officer at Beta Bionics.

Sean Saint obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Computer Science from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo in 1999. In 2001, they were certified as a Professional Engineer (PE) by the California Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists. Sean also holds a Certified ScrumMaster certification from Mountain Goat Software.
