Jeff Knutson

Jeff Knutson is an accomplished aerospace engineer with extensive experience in certification and systems engineering across various roles. Currently serving as a DER for BETA TECHNOLOGIES since June 2021 and as a Consultant DER for Designair Engineering Services since June 2001, Jeff specializes in FAA DER services for part 23 and CAR 3 aircraft. Previously, Jeff held significant positions at Cirrus Aircraft from December 1994 to June 2021, culminating in the role of Director of Mechanical Systems Design where responsibilities included leadership in mechanical systems design for multiple aircraft models. Jeff’s career also includes senior engineering roles at McDonnell Douglas Space Systems Company and experience with organizations such as NASA and Northwest Airlines. An active member of ASTM F44, Jeff possesses a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
