Bethlen Estates Transylvania is a living testament to centuries of heritage, restored with care and brought to life as a sanctuary of quiet luxury. Nestled in the heart of Transylvania, our collection of 18th century historic houses blends architectural authenticity with contemporary comfort, offering guests a private and timeless retreat. The only boutique hotel in Romania to be awarded 2 MICHELIN Keys and proudly part of Small Luxury Hotels of the World™️, the estate reflects an understated dialogue between history, landscape and hospitality. Each space carries its own character: handmade tiles warming the fireplaces, reclaimed timber beams, handcrafted furniture and natural fabrics that speak to a philosophy of thoughtful restoration and enduring craft. Life here unfolds at its own pace: bespoke tasting menus shaped by the land’s rhythms and terroir, horse-drawn carriage rides through quiet forests, e-bike journeys along the Via Transilvanica, moments of stillness in our gardens and interiors designed for reflection and comfort.

Bethlen Estates Transylvania is also a place of gatherings and purpose: a setting for leadership retreats, cultural residencies or intimate celebrations, where the atmosphere inspires connection, contemplation and creativity. The estate’s philosophy honours the local community, supports the preservation of heritage and rests on the conviction that history should be carried forward, not kept behind glass. Here, slow living is an art, hospitality is intentional and every experience is imbued with a sense of place. Bethlen Estates Transylvania is not just a destination, it is a living legacy, where tradition, elegance and the spirit of Transylvania converge in quiet grandeur.
