Matthew Rooney

Matthew Rooney has worked in the media and technology industry since 2014. Matthew began their career at WGN Radio AM 720 as the Kap & Haugh Associate Producer, where they ran the show's social media accounts, assisted in promotional and marketing efforts, performed audio editing tasks, kept a minute-to-minute log of each show, screened phone calls from listeners/viewers, helped promote the show and its podcasts, hosted in-studio guests, managed all of the show's digital media content, helped formulate show content, assisted in booking shows, and served as the show’s executive producer on multiple occasions.

In 2015, they joined the Chicago Blackhawks as a Game Night Media Relations staff member, where they were responsible for preparing the press box before games, issuing stats to media members, coaches, and team executives, getting audio from both coaches and players after games, and writing broadcast reports for road games.

From 2016 to 2021, they worked at NBC Sports Chicago as an Associate Producer and Production Assistant.

In 2021, they joined Betsperts Media & Technology Group as a Digital Content Manager.

Matthew Rooney attended Illinois Wesleyan University from 2010 to 2014.
