Alice Lai has a diverse work experience. Alice began their career in 2012 as an Equity Research Analyst Intern at The Benchmark Company. Alice then worked as an Analyst-Consultant at Brown Brothers Harriman and as a Private Equity Analyst Intern at StepStone Group. In 2013, they co-founded Cookin' MAMA, where they served as a Marketing & Product Strategist and performed interviews and recruitment of low-income women to cook healthy lunches for women empowerment groups. Alice also worked as a Culture Lead at YES Network - The People Incubator. In 2016, they worked as an Executive Assistant & Marketing Support at Gulf Marine Products Co., Inc. In 2017, they held two roles, as a Student Software Engineer at Operation Spark and as a Software Engineer at mumms® Software. Finally, in 2019, they worked as a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer at Compliance Technology Group, and is currently a QA Automation Engineer at BetterLesson.

Alice Lai attended Benjamin Franklin High School from 2004 to 2008. Alice then went on to earn their Bachelor's degree in Finance from Loyola University New Orleans between 2008 and 2012. During this time, they also completed an Exchange Program in Business and Finance at École Supérieure du Commerce Extérieur (ESCE) from 2010 to 2011. In 2019, they obtained a Membership Certificate from The Interaction Design Foundation in May and a UX Design: 1 Overview Certificate from LinkedIn in February.
