Tom Mayer

Tom Mayer is an experienced engineer with a robust background in developing and managing technological solutions. Currently serving as Lead Engineer at Betterment since August 2019, Tom leads an agile engineering team focused on a product that transforms store planning and merchandising techniques, utilizing a RESTful service architecture with Spring and a user-centric UX/UI developed in React. Prior to Betterment, Tom held multiple roles at Target from February 2006 to July 2019, including Lead Engineer, where the emphasis was on replacing legacy systems and enhancing product management tools. Earlier positions included Systems Engineer, Programmer Analyst, and Staff Accountant, highlighting a diverse range of skills from lifecycle management in .NET to financial reporting. Tom holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Management Information Systems and Business, Finance, and Management from Waldorf University.
