Angela Lai has a strong and diverse work experience spanning over several companies. In 1994, they started their career at Silicon Graphics, Inc. as a Principal Engineer, where they worked until 1999. Angela then founded Generic Media in 1999 and served as the Vice President of Engineering until 2003. Angela joined Google in 2004 and held various leadership positions, including Director of Engineering for AdWords, Vice President of Engineering for Wallet and Payment, and Vice President of Engineering for Search, where they stayed until 2016. From 2016 to 2019, Angela worked at GRAIL, Inc. as the Chief Technology Officer and Head of Clinical Technology. Currently, they are the CEO of BetterOmics, a position they assumed in November 2019.
Angela Lai completed their secondary education at St Paul's Co-educational College from 1983 to 1990, where they obtained O-Levels and A-Levels in the field of Science. Angela then attended the University of Pennsylvania from 1990 to 1994, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and Finance, as well as a Master of Science degree.
