Jesse Sun

Jesse Sun is a Machine Learning Engineer at BetterUp since May 2023, specializing in ML and data platforms. Prior experience includes an Undergraduate Research Assistant role at the University of Waterloo focused on computational combinatorial optimization and cooperative game theory from January to June 2023, as well as a previous position at BetterUp working on recommendation systems and feature stores from January to August 2022. Jesse has contributed significantly to research at the University of Waterloo and University Health Network, publishing first-author papers on deep quantile networks and deep image segmentation models. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Computer Science with a minor in Combinatorics and Optimization from the University of Waterloo, completed in 2023.
