Makano Aphane is a Political Science and International Relations graduate with an Honours degree from the University of the Witwatersrand and a Bachelor of Political Sciences from the University of Pretoria. Currently, Makano serves as a Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation, Reporting, and Research Intern at the South African Council for Educators, contributing to data-driven decision-making. Previously, Makano worked as a Legal Assistant and Office Manager at MJ Seemela Attorneys, developing strong administrative and stakeholder engagement skills. Additionally, Makano has over three years of volunteer experience at the Centre for Sexualities, AIDS and Gender, where they facilitated training programs and engaged in research initiatives. As an aspiring diplomat and beVisioneers Fellow, Makano is passionate about governance, human rights, and policy development.
