Derek Schoen

Derek Schoen is a progressive farmer and consultant currently serving as a Councillor for the Federation Council and as Chairperson for Murray Local Land Services. They previously held leadership roles, including Chairperson of the NSW DPI Footrot Steering Committee, President and Vice President of NSW Farmers, and Director of the National Farmers' Federation and AgStewardship Australia. Derek engaged in the aviation industry as a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer before transitioning to farming, managing a 2000ha farm with their family. They have also contributed to mental health initiatives as a Board member for Beyond Blue and have extensive experience in public policy debates.
