John Trani

John Trani is a seasoned legal and business professional with significant experience in the technology and marketing sectors. Currently a member at Beyond Hook Ventures since April 2019, John engages in angel investing focused on disruptive marketing technology and direct-to-consumer businesses. Previously, John served as Chief Legal Officer and SVP, General Counsel at Attentive from September 2019 to May 2025, where efforts were directed towards developing a personalized text messaging platform. Prior roles include Senior Commercial Counsel at Criteo, where advanced machine learning was applied to advertising solutions, and General Counsel at HookLogic, which was acquired by Criteo. Additional experience includes positions at Carrot - a VICE company, Ross & Asmar LLC, and Anand Law, P.C. John holds a Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Finance from the Questrom School of Business, Boston University.
