Eric Weeren

GUI Development Engineer at BeyondEdge

Eric Weeren has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering. Eric began their career at Rockwell Collins, where they worked as a SW Engineer, focusing on decoding DPSK signals transmitted over power lines. Eric also had the opportunity to contribute patentable work during their time at Rockwell Collins. In their next role at InteCom, Eric continued to work on telephony projects, primarily in assembly language and C. Notably, they wrote the packet processing code for an early packet switch built into the InteCom PBX.

Eric then joined intervocie as a SW Engineering Manager and eventually became the Director of SW Engineering. Eric was responsible for leading teams and developing various projects, including GUIs, voice recording and editing tools, and telephony interface cards, among others. During their tenure at intervocie, Eric supervised a large team of engineers and managed budget, planning, and continuous improvement.

Afterwards, Eric started their own business, Closest Point Solutions, where they acted as the CEO. Although the business faced challenges due to a market crash, Eric gained valuable experience in contracting advanced software development to various companies in the telephony and voice-recognition industry.

Eric then transitioned to a role at Cisco Systems as a SW Manager, where they led a team in developing an OAMP infrastructure for a small business telephony system. Eric added significant value by creating meta-commands that allowed users to achieve features that the Call Processing team did not have the bandwidth to undertake.

Following their time at Cisco, Eric joined Netsocket as a Lead Engineer and later took on the role of Director of Engineering. Eric led a small team in developing a market-differentiating UI for router configuration, which became a critical part of NetSocket's product pitch.

Currently, Eric is employed at iPhotonix as a GUI Development Engineer. The role involves developing graphical user interfaces for the company's products.

Eric Weeren completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville from 1972 to 1977.
