Bill Jones

Bill Jones is the current General Counsel at BeyondTrust. Bill has also served as the Deputy General Counsel at Blackboard from June 2013 to September 2021. In their role at Blackboard, they were responsible for all legal aspects of the Company's global contracting efforts supporting the sale of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)-based products and services. This included public and private education institutions, government-funded or operated entities, and corporations. Bill also oversaw the legal implications of international operational expansion, product expansion into new regions, and global compliance initiatives.

Bill has successfully achieved greater efficiencies year over year, through continuous refinement of the contract flow processes, and the regular training of sales and legal personnel in negotiation strategy. Bill has also advised corporate executives on risk management associated with complex deal negotiations and business development opportunities, while successfully garnering cross-functional support. Additionally, they have efficiently directed outside counsel domestically and abroad to assist in regulatory issues, dispute resolution and litigation efforts, and to address merger and acquisition activities in foreign jurisdictions.

Bill Jones is a graduate of Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, where they earned their BA in Criminal Justice/Sociology. Bill then went on to earn their JD from the University of San Diego School of Law.

Bill Jones reports to Janine Seebeck, CEO & Board Member. They work with Mark Rankin - Chief Human Resources Officer, Julie Jones - SVP, Strategic Initiatives, and Dave Giles - Chief Customer Success Officer.
