Luca Minello

Luca Minello has a solid background in data engineering and data science, with experience in various industries.

Starting in 2007, Luca worked as an IT Systems Manager at Hospital Istituto Figlie di San Camillo. From 2010 to 2012, they worked as a Software Tester at Centro Studi Edizioni Erickson, testing Adobe Flash multimedia applications and .NET web apps.

In 2014, Luca joined MoneySuperMarket.com as a Data Engineer before transitioning to the role of Data Scientist. During their time there, Luca developed internal analytics solutions, provided technical support to other Data Scientists, and was the product owner of a new data analytics solution based on R/Python and Spark.

In 2018, Luca joined SYZYGY as a Big Data Engineer, where they covered client-side consultancy and established data requirements and mapping for target systems. Luca also implemented real-time monitoring solutions and managed data using tools like Apache NiFi, Omniscope, and MariaDB. Luca also mentored Data Scientists on coding best practices.

From 2018 to 2019, Luca worked at MoneySupermarket Group as a Campaign Migration Analyst, leading the migration of CRM campaigns to Salesforce and developing a new framework for campaign creation.

In 2019, Luca held two roles at Exii, first as a DevOps Engineer/Data Engineer responsible for cloud operations and data processing pipelines, and then as a Data Engineer supporting the launch of a new product for a major bank.

From 2019 to 2021, Luca worked at ColomboSky as a Data Engineer/Data Scientist, supporting the development of tools and solutions for remote sensing analysis. Luca designed and implemented solutions using AWS, Docker, Geoserver, and Airflow.

At Sainsbury's, Luca worked as a Data Engineer from 2020 to 2022, where they automated and productionalized machine learning algorithms. Luca designed and implemented AWS cloud solutions using Terraform, and implemented CI/CD processes on Codepipeline, CircleCI, and Github Actions.

Most recently, Luca joined BeZero Carbon in 2022 as a Geospatial Data Engineer.

Luca Minello obtained their Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Università degli Studi di Padova from 2003 to 2007. Luca further pursued their education at Università di Trento and completed their Master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering from 2009 to 2011.
