Greg Abrahams is a principal consultant in engineering geology with over 20 years of global operational and consulting experience, currently with BGC Engineering. Previously, they led the Geotechnical and Hydrogeology Teams at Rio Tinto’s Bingham Canyon mine, focusing on slope instability management and mining safety. Greg has authored numerous technical papers, participated in industry panel discussions, and served as a keynote speaker at the Slope Stability in Mining Conference 2023. Their expertise includes pit slope design, wall control blasting, and geotechnical risk management, among others. They hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Geology from The University of Edinburgh and a Master’s Degree in Engineering Geology from the University of Leeds.
