Dr. Matt Lato is Chief Innovation Officer and Principal Geotechnical Engineer at BGC, where they focus on the application of 3-dimensional remote sensing technologies for various geotechnical projects worldwide. They have previously served as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer at BGC and as a founder of RockSense GeoSolutions Inc. Dr. Lato’s expertise includes landslide monitoring, geohazard risk management, and natural hazard emergency response. They are an Adjunct Professor at Queen’s University and contribute as a peer reviewer for over 20 international journals. Dr. Lato has authored numerous publications and received the 2018 Canadian Geotechnical Colloquium Award for their contributions to the field.
