Melanie Coombs currently serves as a Junior Engineer at BGC Engineering Inc., a position held since June 2020, after previously completing a Junior Intern role at the same company during the summer of 2019, where geohazards related to pipeline integrity were categorized, and field inspections were performed. Prior to this, Melanie contributed as a Research Assistant at Queen's University from May 2018 to May 2019, working under Dr. Jean Hutchinson and supporting PhD candidate David Bonneau in the Geomechanics Group. Additionally, Melanie served as a Teaching Assistant for the First Year Engineering Geology and the Biosphere course, guiding students through various laboratory experiments related to geological engineering topics. Melanie holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Geological/Geophysical Engineering from Queen's University, completed in 2020.
