Warren Newcomen is a seasoned geotechnical engineer with extensive experience in open pit rock mechanics and project management. Currently serving as an Open Pit Rock Mechanics Specialist, Principal Geotechnical Engineer, and Managing Associate at BGC Engineering Inc. since January 2006, Warren has led various geotechnical projects across North America and internationally, focusing on assessment, design, and reporting. As President of HW Engineering Ltd. since June 2004, Warren provides comprehensive review services for financial institutions and mining companies regarding acquisitions and due diligence assessments. Previous roles include Senior Geotechnical Engineer at Highland Valley Copper, managing pit wall and waste dump stability, and positions at BGC Engineering and Piteau Associates Engineering. Warren holds a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor's degree in Geological Engineering from The University of British Columbia.
