John Swarbrick

John is responsible for overseeing BGF’s rapidly growing portfolio of high growth entrepreneurial businesses. He is a member of BGF’s Executive Team and sits on the National Investment Committee. He is based in London but divides his time between BGF’s regional offices returning home to Yorkshire for the weekends.

John has a strong track record of investing in the UK mid-market and, over the course of his career, has sat on a wide variety of SME boards in sectors that include software, printing, retailing, pharmaceuticals and aerospace engineering.

Prior to joining BGF in November 2012, John was at LDC which he joined in 1998 heading up the Leeds office from 2000. Before LDC he was for four years the finance director of a private equity backed textile group. John began his career in chartered accountancy as a corporate finance advisor with PwC and is an Economics graduate from Leeds University.
