Andrew Smith

Andrew Smith has extensive experience in network engineering and technology management, with a career spanning over 18 years. Since December 2012, Andrew has held multiple roles at BHP, including Product Owner for Datacentre Network, Principal Network Engineer, Specialist Cloud Network Engineer, Senior Technical Specialist, and Network Specialist. Prior to BHP, Andrew worked as a Communications Engineer at Rio Tinto from November 2010 to December 2012, and as a Network Security Consultant at Australian Consolidated Insurance Limited from July 2009 to September 2010, where the company manages over $80 million in global insurance premiums. Earlier in Andrew's career, leadership was demonstrated as Head of Technology at Meade Investments PLC from August 2005 to June 2009, managing a multi-industry organization with a turnover exceeding £10 million. Andrew began their career as a Senior Network Engineer at Office Information Australia, implementing security policies and network management solutions for corporate clients.
