Austin O'Brien

Austin O'Brien is an experienced professional in program and project delivery within the mining and technology sectors. Currently serving as Principal Program Delivery and previously as Manager Technology for Autonomous Haulage at BHP since August 2012, O'Brien focuses on enhancing mine safety and productivity through innovative autonomous processes and technology. Prior roles include Project Manager at both Conducive for Fortescue Metals Group and Fortescue Metals Group directly, where responsibilities encompassed IT project management and implementation of management systems. O'Brien's extensive background also includes roles at iiNet as Architecture Manager and Project Manager, as well as various engineering positions at Maptek and rf-innovation. O'Brien holds a Master of Science in Digital Systems Engineering from Heriot-Watt University and a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics from Waterford Institute of Technology.
