Brian Ayres

Brian Ayres is an experienced geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineer with a robust career spanning over two decades in the field of environmental management related to mining and waste storage facilities. Currently, Brian serves as the Principal Closure Engineer at BHP, focusing on the assessment and design of remedial measures for mine waste storage facilities. Previous roles include Manager of Integrated Closure Planning for BHP's North America Legacy Assets and Principal Geoenvironmental Engineer at SNC-Lavalin, overseeing geoenvironmental projects and business development. Brian held significant positions at O'Kane Consultants as Sr. Geo-Environmental Engineer and COO, and at Orano Canada as a Geo-Environmental Engineer, contributing expertise in hydrology and decommissioning plans. Brian holds a Master of Science degree in Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan.
