Dan Young

Dan Young is an experienced mining professional currently serving as Manager of Mine Production Underground and Manager of Operational Mine Services at BHP since January 2023. Prior to this role, Dan was with OZ Minerals from July 2019 to January 2023, holding positions such as Superintendent of Mine Services & Backfill, Agile Embedment Champion, and Superintendent of Geotechnical Engineering. Dan's earlier career includes significant positions at BHP from November 2016 to July 2019 as a Senior Development A&I Engineer and Geotechnical Engineer, at Glencore as a Rock Mechanics Engineer, and at BHP Billiton as a Geomechanical Engineer and Graduate Geomechanical Engineer. Dan began the professional journey as a vacation student at Anglo American in 2010. Academically, Dan holds a Master’s Degree in Natural Resource Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining and Mineral Engineering, both from Laurentian University/Université Laurentienne.
