Fergus Eley

Fergus Eley serves as the Head of Portfolio Sourcing & Strategy at BHP, with a career spanning from December 2014 to the present. In this role, Eley oversees BHP's global maritime business as Company Director and is responsible for the maritime supply chain's commercial, operational, and strategic aspects, linking commodity and freight markets while providing risk management solutions. Prior positions include Manager of Strategy & Planning in Supply Chain, where Eley developed the freight strategy and built financial models to enhance internal customer value, as well as Area Project Manager, leading the delivery of new tugs for Port Hedland operations. Eley has also held the position of Director at North West Shelf Shipping Services Company and was previously the Marine Vessels Engineering Manager for the Gorgon LNG Project. Educational qualifications include an MBA from AGSM @ UNSW Business School and dual Bachelor's Degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Commerce from Monash University.
