Frans Knox has extensive experience in the mining and human resources sectors, currently serving as Vice President Human Resources GBS at BHP since January 2005. Knox has held multiple leadership positions at BHP, including Vice President Technical and Asset Services and General Manager for various coal operations such as Blackwater Mine, Wolvekrans Colliery, and Khutala Colliery. Knox also led the Energy Coal 1SAP Project, focusing on the global implementation of standardized processes across four countries. In addition to roles at BHP, Knox was an Advisory Board Member at the Sustainable Minerals Institute and a Board Member for Australian Coal Research Limited. Knox has a solid educational background with B.Eng degrees in Mining from the University of Pretoria and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Johannesburg. Previous experience includes serving as a Shaft Manager at Sasol Mining and being a council member for the South African Colliery Manager's Association.
