Jared Leigh

Jared Leigh is a seasoned professional in environmental science, currently serving as Principal - Biodiversity at BHP since April 2021, where responsibilities include providing biodiversity advice, managing biological surveys, and supporting environmental approvals. Previously, Jared held the position of Principal Environmental Scientist (Ecologist) at AECOM from January 2006 to April 2021, managing multidisciplinary projects and contributing to environmental impact assessments. Early career experience includes roles as an Environmental Advisor at Alcoa World Alumina, where regulatory compliance and environmental audits were key responsibilities, and as a Field Researcher at both Cambridge University and Central Science Laboratory, focusing on project management and habitat surveying. Jared attained a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science with a double major in Zoology and Marine Biology from The University of Western Australia, completed between 1993 and 1996.
