John Pfahl has been with BHP since 2021, initially serving as the technical lead in business development before becoming the Head of the Vicuña joint venture with Lundin Mining. In this role, they manage and govern the Vicuña asset for BHP. Previously, John was a Practice Leader at SRK Consulting (North America) and a Senior Associate at Resource Capital Funds. With over 20 years in the mining industry, John's expertise includes investment/M&A, project development, and strategic evaluations. They also lecture as an adjunct faculty member in the Mineral Economics department at the Colorado School of Mines, where they earned both a Master of Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
