Laila Ellis

Laila Ellis is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in civil engineering and health, safety, and environment management. They served as the Non-Operated Joint Ventures Board Director at BHP from 2014 to 2019, where they also held roles as Head of HSE and Vice President of Health, Safety and Environment. Previously, Laila worked with URS Corporation as an Audit Manager and Country Manager in South America, and held positions at Tenneco Gas Pipeline Co, El Paso Energy, Xstrata Copper Exploration, and Anglo American. Laila earned a Bachelor’s Degree with Honours in Civil Engineering, complemented by a minor in Environmental Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology from 1987 to 1991.
