Liam Prior

Liam Prior is currently the Manager of Engineering at BHP, leading efforts on the Prominent Hill Expansion Project. With 17 years of experience in the mining and metals industry, they have developed a deep understanding of the key drivers behind safe and productive mining operations. Their expertise spans the development and execution of underground hoisting systems, shaft infrastructure, and mine dewatering systems, complemented by hands-on roles in project engineering and mechanical maintenance. Previously, Liam held various senior roles at AECOM and worked with Glencore as a mechanical engineer focused on underground fixed plant maintenance. They hold a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical from Queensland University of Technology.
