Continuous Improvement Superintendent - Standardised Work

Luke Alder is an experienced professional in continuous improvement and quality management within the mining and education sectors. Currently serving as Continuous Improvement Superintendent for Standardised Work at BHP since August 2016, Luke is responsible for implementing standardised work across surface operations at the Olympic Dam mine. Prior roles at BHP include Line Coach and Line Technical Specialist, focusing on the BHP Operating System. Before joining BHP, Luke worked as a QHSE Officer and RRTW Coordinator at Quarry Mining Manufacture, where the development of an Integrated Management System was a key responsibility. Early career experiences include working underground in ventilation at Olympic Dam and serving as a teacher and literacy leader for the Far North Region in South Australia. Luke holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of South Australia and certifications in mechanical engineering, occupational health and safety, and lead auditing.
