Principal RPAS at BHP

Luke Burton is an experienced surveying and remote piloted aircraft systems (RPAS) professional with a career spanning over two decades. Currently, as Principal RPAS at BHP since February 2013, Luke provides operational and technical support while establishing best practices in RPAS management. Luke has also held key roles within BHP, including Principal Governance and Compliance, where responsibility included ensuring RPAS operator compliance with safety management systems, and developing a safety management system specific to BARS compliance for RPAS. Prior positions include extensive surveying roles with BHP, John Holland, and Brazier Motti, contributing to significant civil projects and developing innovative technology solutions. Luke holds a Bachelor of Technology in Surveying from the University of Southern Queensland and a Diploma of Quality Auditing from Southpac Aerospace.
