Marcelo Cortes

Marcelo Cortes is a geoscience leader with over 25 years of international experience in exploration, mine geology, resource estimation, and minerals reporting across multiple commodities including copper, iron, coal, nickel, gold, and silver. They hold a Diploma in Geo-Mining-Metallurgy and a Magister in Economic Geology - Exploration from Universidad Católica del Norte. Previously, Marcelo has held various roles in companies such as BHP, Minera Escondida, and Coeur D'Alene Mines, where they demonstrated expertise in resource estimation and geological modeling. Currently, Marcelo employs a collaborative leadership style to manage teams and enhance technical assurance practices in mineral resource reporting.
