Melissa Halliday is a seasoned leader with 30 years of experience across the mining, construction, and water industries. Since January 2022, they have served as the global Vice President of Safety at BHP, following their role as General Manager of Hay Point Coal Terminal. Prior to joining BHP, they spent a decade in Asia, managing diverse teams in engineering and construction, contributing to significant projects like the reclamation for Hong Kong's Chep Lap Kok Airport. Melissa holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and a Master of Engineering Science from Griffith University, and is a passionate advocate for inclusion and diversity. They are also a Qualified JP and serve as an Independent Director on the boards of an Anglican School and the Greater Whitsunday Alliance.
