Rafael Romano

Rafael Romano is a seasoned geoscientist with extensive experience in mineral exploration and operational performance at BHP since March 2010, where roles have included Principal Geoscientist, Principal Geologist, and Principal Operational Performance. Responsibilities encompass oversight of exploration activities, mineral rights coordination in Brazil, and involvement in safety management for various projects, including the BHP NOJV Renova Resettlement process. Prior to BHP, Rafael served as Project Manager for early-stage iron ore exploration at Terrativa Minerais S/A and worked as an Exploration Geologist at Senior Geologia, focusing on structural-geological mapping. Rafael holds a Master of Business Administration in Leadership and Innovation from FGV and a degree in Geological Engineering from UFOP.
