Sam Hewitt

Sam Hewitt has extensive experience in the mining engineering sector, currently serving as Manager Oak Dam and previously as Project Manager - Mine (BFX) at BHP since April 2018. Prior roles include Manager Underground and Manager Decline Development at Oyu Tolgoi LLC from April 2012 to March 2018, and Principal Engineer at Terramin Australia Limited from November 2010 to March 2012. Sam's career began in various roles at Freeport-McMoRan from January 2000 to December 2009, followed by positions as Assistant Resident Engineer (Geotechnical) at Montgomery Watson HK and Project Engineer at Transfield Tunnelling. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining Engineering from the University of South Australia and a Graduate Diploma of Management from Deakin University.
