Shyaam Patel

Shyaam Patel is a Graduate Mechanical Engineer at BHP, where they provide strategic and technical leadership for material risk management within Operations Services. Having previously served as Principal Safety (Risk SME), Shyaam developed BHP’s fatal risk governance processes, ensuring the implementation of life-saving control requirements across operations. Their role also included leading the Fatality Elimination Program, driving critical safety improvements and enhancing reporting accuracy through innovative technology. Shyaam earned both a Bachelor and Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Western Australia, completing their studies in 2019.
