Tessa Ormerod is a geotechnical engineer with experience in both underground and open pit hard rock metalliferous mines. Since graduating from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering in 2014, Tessa has worked on geotechnical hazard management, notably at Telfer Gold Mine and in the Carrapateena Integrated Planning team. Currently, Tessa is the Superintendent of Geotechnical Modelling and Strategy at BHP, having joined in 2023. Tessa's previous roles include Senior Geotechnical Engineer at OZ Minerals and Underground Geotechnical Engineer at Newcrest Mining, where they focused on risk identification and mitigation.
