James Rogers has a diverse work experience, spanning various roles and industries. James is currently the Co-founder & CEO of BHR, a position they have held since 2022. Prior to this, they co-founded Torii in 2017, where they also served as CEO. Torii is a platform for finding and buying homes, offering comprehensive services and expert agent support.

From 2014 to 2017, James worked as a Principal Software Engineer at Jana, focused on making the internet accessible to the next billion users. James led a team responsible for designing and building self-service ad campaign creation and internal monitoring tools, utilizing their expertise in full-stack software engineering and UI/UX design.

In 2013, James co-founded GearCommons, the first peer-to-peer outdoor gear rental service. As CEO, they designed and built the platform, overseeing the overall direction of the business. GearCommons gained users from all 50 states and several countries, promoting outdoor activities.

Before that, James served as the Lead Web Developer at Happier, Inc. in 2013, where they led engineering efforts for the social network platform centered around positivity. James also developed a course platform for habit-based learning.

In 2012, James worked at Endurance International Group as the User Interface Lead, overseeing the aesthetics and user experience for the largest web hosting company in the United States. James managed the UI team and actively contributed to code, interface design, and visual assets.

Lastly, in 2010, James co-founded Junctions, a service that contextualized the social web. James acted as CEO, leading the team in building interactive 3D maps of users' social activities, highlighting real-world interactions as "junctions."

Overall, James Rogers has demonstrated their abilities as a leader and innovator across multiple ventures, utilizing their expertise in software engineering, UI/UX design, and business development.

James Rogers attended Tufts University from 2006 to 2010, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree. Their studies at Tufts University focused on Economics, International Relations, and Entrepreneurial Leadership. In 2009, they also briefly attended The University of Hong Kong, where they studied Business and Economics.
